Abstract
In this database, a total of 41342 detrital zircon U-Pb ages of 444 samples and 6124 Hf isotopes of 148 samples, have been compiled from 59 papers and 1 thesis for the Middle East (Iranian and Arabian plates). All these compiled data are divided into five main domains, i.e., the Alborz Mountains, Central Iran terrane, Makran accretionary complex, Zagros orogenic belt and Arabian plate. Further, the Zagros orogenic belt is subdivided into several parallel segments, referring to the Urumieh-Dokhtar magmatic arc, the Sanandaj-sirjan zone, and the Zagros fold and thrust belt. The strata of all these samples collected varies from the Precambrian to Quaternary. The major lithology of these samples are sandstones and modern sands, which account for nearly79.6%. The other samples are conglomerate, mudstone and metasedimentary rocks (i.e., schist, and metasandstone). The data sheet includes all the sample information, referring the sample location, publication, lithology and etc.. For the data filtering of this database, the 206Pb/238U age for single zircon grain younger than 1200 Ma and 207Pb/206Pb age older than 1200 Ma are applied in the “best age” picking. The concordance calculation of the age is applied by the formulas of (207Pb/206Pb age - 206Pb/238U age)/ 207Pb/206Pb age for the ages > 1200 Ma, and (206Pb/238U age - 207Pb/235Pb age)/ 206Pb/238U age for the ages < 1200 Ma. The εHf(t) values were recalculated on the original Hf isotopes by the initial 176Hf/177Hf ratio of 0.282772 and 176Lu/177Hf of 0.0332 (Blichert-Toft et al., 1997). The decay constant value of 1.865×10-11 year-1 for 176Lu reported by Scherer et al. (2001) was used.
